TITLE 3
VACANCIES ON BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS ORDINANCE.
1. What constitutes vacancy. Any members of any Town board or Commission who fails to attend more than three duly called meetings of such board or Commission in any year without a reasonable excuse communicated to the chairman or secretary of such board or Commission, prior to or within 48 hours of any such meeting, shall be deemed to have resigned from such board or Commission, and a vacancy shall exist in the office of such member to be filled in the manner provided by law. The existence of any such vacancy shall be communicated to the Board of Selectmen by the secretary of the board or Commission, after a vote of the board or Commission declaring such vacancy.
2. Specific boards and Commissions. Town board or Commission for purposes of this ordinance shall include:
Conservation Commission
Fire Commissioners
Planning Commission
Recreation Commission
(Sewer Commission) Water Pollution Control Authority
Inland Wetlands and Water Courses Commission.
3. Definition. “Year” as used in this ordinance shall mean the year commencing with the first day of the term of office of members of boards or Commissions, and with each annual anniversary thereof.
4. Effective. This ordinance shall be effective February 20, 1975. (1-29-1975)
