TITLE 8
PUBLIC LIBRARY
1. ESTABLISHMENT
To establish library. That $200.00 is hereby appropriated out of the funds in the hands of the treasurer for the establishment of a public library, and the treasurer is directed to pay such money and any other money available for library purposes to any person authorized by the directors of the public library to receive it. 2. BY-LAWS
1. That the following by-laws of the Town are hereby adopted, to be known as the public library by-laws.
a.) A public library is hereby established, which shall, under the proper regulations to be adopted by the directors be free to all the inhabitants of this town.
b.) The number of directors of the public library shall be Six
c.) The town treasurer is authorized to receive such sums as may from time to time be paid to the Town for library purposes, and to pay the sums upon the order of the public library committee.
2. That the directors are authorized to provide a suitable room or rooms for the public library. (12-16-1901)
INTEREST FUND
The treasurer of the Town is hereby authorized and directed to pay over to the Goshen Public Library all the interest of the ASAPH HALL CEMETERY FUND, which is in excess of fifty dollars, ($50.00). (10-2-1905)
ELECTRICITY
The Selectmen be authorized to pay for electricity used in Public Library as soon as the wiring and fixture are installed. (10-4-1926)
APPROPRIATION
Town of Goshen appropriate $100. each year for Library instead of former vote to appropriate $50. per year. (10-2-1933)
REPEAL PORTIONS DEC. 16, 1901 AND OCT. 2, 1933 ORDINANCE
Repeal that portion of the ordinance adopted December 16, 1901 which read: “To expend annually the sum of $50.00 for maintenance and increase of the said public library to be paid by Town Treasurer upon the order of the directors of the public library” and
To repeal the ordinance adopted October 2, 1933, which reads: “that the Town of Goshen appropriate $100. each year for Library instead of former vote to appropriate $50. per year”. (4-25-1974)
